That looks like the correct transmission for your truck. Attack the dirt and grime near the top of the transmission where it bolts to the back of the engine. There is a pad there that should be stamped with your truck's VIN.

I took a small trip but I managed to get the bed done. I found 2 small spots of rust through and miss alignment on the corners. I plan to weld the corners closed again. (Rivets popped off) Apply a small amount of bondo and Rhino line the top and undercarriage of the bed. I still have to remove the bed from the trunk.

While removing the gas tank and dash wiring I found the original registration card taped to the bottom of the steering column **hidden by a black covering**

I leaped for joy when I found it.

Cleaning up the interior and removed the gas tank. Im going to drill out the rivets and take the gas tank support frame out and start looking for some seats to put in.

Before I started to degrease and coat with ceramic paint. I have quite a few holes I didn't close and am still figuring out which ones I need and which ones I can close.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6296350507/" title="IMAG0302 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6058/6296350507_52946edd1d_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0302"></a>

The Driver side came out nice with one coat of ceramic paint. I had to chisel
60+ years of grime off the firewall as well as the steering box.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6296883010/" title="IMAG0303 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6212/6296883010_c8afc94d68_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0303"></a>

The passenger side looks just as good.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6296351367/" title="IMAG0304 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6115/6296351367_9e65bc8789_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0304"></a>

The firewall needs a few more coats on it then Im going to hit the frame rails.Once that is done I am putting on the new engine and transmission mounts.

I started removing the driver window regulator, track, lock, pretty much everything.
After using my cut off wheel on the inner window handle (pin was rusted in) I could not
figure out how to remove the driver outside handle. After 30 minutes of banging my head I jumped on the forum and sure enough found out I have to pull the inside handle all the way open and pull on the outside handle.

I removed the window and felt track but I have no clue how am I going to replace the inner felt on the window track inside the door??????????????

Used a bit of bondo on some dings and Ill use the grater and sand em down tomorrow as well as prime and etch.

Ding on passenger side

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6304641306/" title="IMAG0314 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6108/6304641306_e70e7923ee.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0314"></a>

Someone drilled a crap load of holes for mounting god knows what. Weld and then a coat of bondo.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6304115203/" title="IMAG0315 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6113/6304115203_3ec45cf5a7.jpg" width="299" height="500" alt="IMAG0315"></a>

Cleaning out the window rail and im soaking it in rust remover as I type.

I decided to relocate the gas tank in the rear so I could use some more comfy seats. So I drilled out the rivets on the gas tank shroud.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6309940423/" title="IMAG0324 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6105/6309940423_8bcc4f8c1c_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0324"></a>

Seats are a bit snug but they are electric and the seat hight it just perfect
the way they are sitting. Better yet they have SEATBELTS in the seats. (came off a 02 silverado)

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6310461046/" title="IMAG0325 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6120/6310461046_3c6c65413c_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0325"></a>

Another view of the seats

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6309940851/" title="IMAG0326 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6112/6309940851_7e691f544f_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0326"></a>

Just enough room

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6310461482/" title="IMAG0327 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6032/6310461482_908f14b062_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0327"></a>

View from the rear. I can take the headrest off later if I dont like the look
from behind.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6309941559/" title="IMAG0329 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6116/6309941559_aec77bb1f4_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0329"></a>

Took it all the way down to bare metal and hit it with some primer. I forgot to hit it with the self etching first...sigh oh well.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6309942355/" title="IMAG0331 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6234/6309942355_8e27d6f319_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0331"></a>

Came out awesome..the bottom has a bit of cancer that needs to be cut out
soon.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6309942657/" title="IMAG0332 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6044/6309942657_3168c6c071_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0332"></a>

Im going to get a few hours of work on it now before the wife gets home. I was outside working on it all day yesterday.

It looks great. I like your seat choice. My tank was moved to the rear, under the bed but the shroud was left and a platform put over top to mount seats. I might rethink what I have now that I have seen yours. That is down the road for me as i am re-doing my rear end right now.

I have another set of seats out of a 92 camaro. The
seat hight was perfect if I left the shrowed and fabricated a
platform like you. I chose the silverado seats because they
have built in seat belts and the seat hight was great
just sitting on the floor. Now I need to sell the other seats.

The big problem is I have rust through on the passenger floor pan.
I'm going to start prepping the interior this week. I wish I had
Access to a media blaster and could sand the whole truck ASAP.

So after some research on the forums the darn reproduction transmission mounts are rubbered over where the bolts go into. Here is a picture of one still closed and the other I was hacking away at for an hour trying to clear up the square peg.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6329650037/" title="IMAG0357 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6041/6329650037_7deed8c57d_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0357"></a>

After the transmission mount was in place we lowered the flathead into place.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6329650211/" title="IMAG0358 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6222/6329650211_3a8ec6d3e2_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0358"></a>

Here is a front view

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6330400114/" title="IMAG0359 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6034/6330400114_775701f406_z.jpg" width="383" height="640" alt="IMAG0359"></a>

Transmission in place. I need to clean the bolts and spray em with some no rust.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/42046612@N00/6329650767/" title="IMAG0361 by DC Shoes Guy, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6218/6329650767_dda7e4be93_z.jpg" width="640" height="383" alt="IMAG0361"></a>

Engine is finally in...now to finish up the body and find some new front fenders.
