Diesel Exhaust Fluid?

What the heck is it?

Last night I answered a complaint from the local Pilot Truck Stop about some "working girls" in the truck parking lot. As I was driving around looking for these ladies, I noticed they now have diesel exhaust fluid pumps beside the diesel pumps. It's $2.59 a gallon. There's a big sign beside the pumps that says Detriot Diesels run better with diesel exhaust fluid. I've never heard of the stuff!

More EPA B/S... Glad none of my old diesels need any of this
Hmmm... from a google search "Urea is a chemical compound found in urine" so I guess ya gotta pee in the new diesels... YUCK!

It's urea injection. It's what you smell when you think you are following a diesel truck but it smells like a urine distillery!

Edit: It's the commie EPA and all the governmental beneficiaries getting drunk on our "untaxed" money. The truth is, when you fill up with urea, you give the commies more ammo against you. I will drive a truck illegally before I pay the EPA to sodomize me.

nothing you and i need.

your not keeping up with the lasted emissions are ya?

prior to that stuff;
the PSD's would go into a regeneration mode.it shot diesel fuel in to be burnt (but not used as power! just to clean up the exhaust! horrible fuel economy killer mode! stupid really.) as way to pass latest emission standards.

now,new for 2011 ford 6.7l PSD (and many other diesel trucks of course.) rather than burn fuel to clean the exhaust, they have a devoted tank for this "emissions juice" lol
fuel economy has increased, but you do have the expense of burning that crap, though it's said to last a while.a much, much better idea anyway.

but ya know what ford did?
they made it so that,if you get a message its getting low,and if it gets so low, your engine will go into limp mode! and it kills your power so you can only go so fast, and then it will kill the engine and not let ya drive at all! hahaha.
id be bypassing that **** can,and rigging the sensor to tell the brain she's always full.

Emissions?? What's that? We ain't got none of them laws round here! LOL. I figured it was something my old IDI's had no use for but I just wondered what it was. I never did find the working girls either, in case any of you guys were wondering about that! LOL

lol no i really didnt care....but yeah sadly they built it to make it NON removeable....you would have to run with no computer at all....which is impossible on these new engines.

Um not true at all!! Have you worked on a 6.7 at all? The DEF goes to an injector near the particulate trap and goes no where near the engine! Also H & S tuning has already done the DEF soot trap http://www.dpfdeletekits.com/deletep...werstroke.html delete tuning for these! Cost you right around 1200.00 for the straight pipe and tunes. The only catch is you will get caught if you have vehicle inspections or emissions testing and the verdict is still out about how Ford will feel about it! 2011 Ford 6.7 Powerstroke H&S Performance Tuner - YouTube FORD 6.7L WITH INDUSTRIAL'S NEW TWIN TURBO SETUP - YouTube

Yes after a long day at work in a 6.7 I still really enjoy driving my IDI's just something about them that will never be re created! Yes the new trucks are very capable of running 45 PSI boost and putting down over 500HP to the rear wheels but its just not the same to me!
