4.2 is hosed

my 1997 4.2 started rattling in #3 drivers side piston........dealership said they think the piston is galled.......it rattles ......however....I have 130000 miles on it........So....my question is.........should I buy a long block?...or an engine from a wrecking yard?........or have this one repaired?.....I have always used mobil 1 synthetic oil...................It runs out great..........good mileage...but am afraid to leave town with it.....of course
so.........I guess I am in the market for a new engine.........can I get any 4.2 engine??.....any year???........thanks for any info

Well, I don't know much about your situation, but I do know that all the ................................'s in your post are very annoying! Just a friendly tip.

I understand your hesitation to go on a long trip. Any 4.2 should fit. They are pricey.
