94 bronco 5.8 to 96 bronco 5.0 tranny swap
i have my first bronco sitting in the garage still for parts, it is a 94 with the 5.8 the tranny was rebuilt shortly before i wrecked it.the truck runs and drives ok except the frame is tweaked and cracked.i was wondering if the tranny will work in my 96 5.0?if not what needs to be changed? both trucks have the e4od tranny.

yes tranny will work for sure.
i would first do a complete service on your current tranny. drain the Torque converter, and replace the filter of course. make sure you get it topped off and see how it goes from there.
when you drain the torq Converter i believe you will need around 15quarts to refill.

Three AMENS to what Kem said.
In '95 the solenoid pack changed with moving a diode to the PSOM. The connector pointing up at the passenger rear is different.
Again the '94 MLPS connector is upward and I think later ones are rearward. Edit.. thinking about this again you might try the '94 MLPS first. ..long story..shaft alignment to Neutral...check connector wiring layout when you make the swap.
Did your '94 E4OD get the Ford warranty upgrade the first year?

i read something about repinning the harnesses, but that seems like it would be harder and take more time than just switching the mlps and solenoid pack from one to the other. any thoughts on that? would'nt be that hard, i guess, just hate foolin with those damn electrical connectors more than i have to. are the mlps and solenoid pack the same from 94-96, just with different connectors?

94 solenoid pack will not work in the 96. The connector is different. In '95 a diode was moved from the pack to the PSOM.
The 94 mlps should work. compare the connectors. I do know the rear connector MLPS will not line up on Neutral on my 94. The '95 MLPS kit with the top connector works on my '94. I would leave yours on if the connectors fit and try it.
The original owner of mine told me about the warranty upgrade done the first year.
