Awesome job Trent.
Do those speakers behind the seat limit the rearward seat travel?

It took away about 1/2" so I didn't think that was terrible, my DD is a 98 Ranger std cab so it's not like I even notice.

KingBigJoe, I would have to sit down and look through all my paper work but I'm guessing it's around 2600 bucks so far. Thats motor, interior, brakes, stereo, suspension and supplies. So hopefully not that much longer and I'll have this thing road worthy!!

Just thought I'd throw an update on the project. I've been able to get back on the front end removal. Luckily I'll be heading home this weekend for Easter so I plan on taking some of the parts home to be able to run in the blast cabinet.. Looking at both tie rod ends they need replaced bad, I gather I should just replace all of them? From looking at everything they all seem original I believe the only thing I'll re-use are the adjusting sleeves. Just figure I'd ask since I'm sure most of you guys have already had to deal with this problem with your trucks? Also does anyone need a set of old beams? Thanks and hope you enjoy the pics!

So made some good progress today while back in my hometown. Luckily, my dad has a nice blast cabinet and air compressor that got well used today. Once I had the parts blasted and cleaned off, I used Eastwood's rust encapsulator. This was the first time using this product and I am impressed, it went on easy and looked great. Once it dried I used Eastwood's extreme chassis gloss black. From how everything looks in person I think everything turned out great. Now to get back home to clean up the frame rails, shock towers and to get started with the same process.

Oh my gawd I see a Chevt truck endgate!!

Looks good. I need to change the radius arms in my 85. I had put new bushing in. But it still bangs back and forth. It is worn where the large washer goes. Have another Radius from a parts truck. Now to do the same as you. Clean it and paint it up nice an purty.
Seeing your work makes me want to get at my 85 truck. But I have my Econo truck to work on and my 66 Fury and 62 Signet. Oh where to start besides the house projects to be done.
I'm enviuos of you being able to get at your truck.

Yes that indeed is a tailgate for my dads 48 Chevy 5 window he is restoring. As for being envious...I luckily got a few hours on Saturday to be able to do this. I'm hoping for enough time these next few weeks to button everything else up and to get my truck back on the ground.

[QUOTE=trent_44;11685337Thanks Gary, I'm sure once you get to this point on your dads truck it will be nothing short of perfection!![/QUOTE] Thanks. But perfection takes a long time and the Bee is calling, saying it must be its turn. So, I have to balance usability with perfection. I want it to be a truck I can actually use, but one in great shape and durable.

That's exactly what I'm going for, a nice dependable truck that I can actually use and not be afraid of driving it and using the....you know what out of it!!
