Pakage deal 53-56 trucks
#17
It was apparently some kind of MIL-SPEC unit that someone added to the truck in its past life. I'll know more about it tomorrow, and will have plenty of pictures to share. I'm hoping to obtain a few parts for myself, and will be parting ways with the rest. This could prove to be the opportunity I've been waiting for to keep turning the trucks into them selves...hopefully.

I was at Donn`s 4-5 years ago and back then I didn`t see any that really caught my fancy. I went by there today and maybe I should have stopped in again.

Got a few pictures today, and made the purchase. 1 really nice cab, 1 good cab that needs a little work. 2 pairs of really decent doors that are really straight and rust free, but have some trucker type mirror holes that need filled. Two very decent beds, one needs a front panel, and lower front strip, the other needs a little work around a stake pocket, and a lower front strip. 3 good rear fenders, 2 really nice '56 chrome grilles, 1 fair '56 chrome grille that has a few dings in it. 4 usable front fenders needing some body work attention, with one of those being a left front in really nice shape. No running boards. 1 really nice hood, 3 that are usable with some attention. And lots of small parts (glove box doors, ash trays, sun visor brackets, seat frames, etc., etc. One '56 is a Fordomatic equipped, and it all looks like it's there, including the proper brake pedal parts, and the shifter.

The slant cab that came with this deal is toast. It needs corners, and the front drip rail to be replaced, as someone tried to hack, and wack a shave drip rail job. It did have a good original windshield though, and a good right vent window..maybe a dash, and some floor metal, but that's about it.
