I have a bad transmission in my 1996 E350 torque converter is locked up.
My question is Ive located a transmission from a F250 4x4
Can i swap the tailshaft from my transmission onto the 250's trans?
And how difficult would it be?

I believe to swap the tailshafts, it's almost the very last part to get to in an automatic, meaning you have to tear down the entire trans. I could be way off base though, hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in soon.

 

Every last part has to come out of the transmission to swap output shafts. It is the last part to come out on the teardown.

If you were closer I have a 2wd trans with 35k on it that I'd sell you...
