Mustang II Power Steering Hose Question

Charging the camera now so I can post pics but here's my question. My power rack from Heidt's has a threaded fitting opening and a 90 degree press in fitting that go into the box. I think I hooked them backward because on initial start up when I turned the wheel to the left full lock the press in fitting popped out of the hole in the box. Steering felt fine throughout. Of course that may be because the front end was up on jack stands without a load on the pump. Bottom line, is the press in fitting the low pressure return to the res.?

Hope these help. Not the best but you can see the threaded port and the press in port next to it. The press in fitting on the end of one of the hoses is shown. I'm thinking that the press in must be the low pressure return?

After taking off some panels I can see that it was hooked up correctly. The swivel fitting just popped out of the threaded fitting that goes into the box. Can't figure out why.
