Heavey Tow Problem

I'm running TW tunes and I'm having trouble in the heavey tow setting. When pulling my 25' 5er, I get a 1211 code and SES in the heavey tow setting only. I assumed it was from a weak HPOP so I changed it out with a terminator T-500 pump and new IPR. The problem is still there. The SES light comes on even on flat ground. As soon as I switch to any other tune the light goes out. When I switch back to heavey tow the light comes back on instantly. Truck runs good otherwise. EGT's hit 1300 in the heavey tow also with 28 psi boost.

Any ideas what maybe causing this before I call and bother Tony? I'm hoping I'm over looking something simple. I also have no way to datalog.

I have the same tunes.I run in htow most of the time even when un-loaded.Just like how the truck runs in that tune.I will get a ses when I really get on it to pass someone and it will go out a few miles down the road.
I will also get one loaded if I am climbing or running high boost for several seconds. It will go out as well a few miles down the road.

Could be from overboosting. Is it the same code as before? P1211

<TABLE id=codetable><TBODY><TR><TD>P1211</TD><TD>ICP pressure above/below desired</TD><TD>IPR valve failed, stuck, or shorted to ground</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Thats the code I keep getting too when i get on it hard or pulling a hill with a load, and now sometimes when swiching tunes.

Sure frank but I wasn't sure if it was still throwing the 1211 or something different now. Thought he could be just assuming it was the same old code. Op do you have access to a tool like ae? It would be worth monitoring icp pressure when towing to see what's going on.

I do have the OCR from Riffraff so it should not be from overboosting. I don't get the light in the Econo or Street Perf tunes but EGT's get harder to control. The thing is, even if I switch to a higher horse tune, the light goes out instantly. It comes on again instantly when I switch back. Makes me think it's an issue with that tune.

The other thing I'm not sure about is why it would be doing this in only the tow mode and not the performance tunes. I think the icp is all limited the same in most tunes( at least in dp's they are) and the only thin changed was the fpw and timing. And being a tow tune I would think this would be easier on the hpop as opposed to the performance tunes when the fpw is oppened up the most. I'm not a tuner so I'm just talking on my phone. I guess it could be these long pulls for extended periods that is running the icp a lil low. Also I think DP has the p1211 code set up so that it isn't thrown even if it is happening and that's why many of us don't have this problem. I'm curious if it is an icp problem and pump related why the T500 isn't able to keep up on your truck!

I guess I'll start another thread to see if I can find someone near with AE to see what is going on.

If for some reason the T-500 is not able to keep up, I'm gonna want to be one of the first to get the T-1000.

These are the programs I have copied and pasted from TDP's web site.

Economy is designed to increase your fuel mileage.
Tow is going to be approximately 50hp increase for the 94-97 models and 65ish for 99-03 models.
Heavy tow will have shift points adjusted and an increase in power over the regular tow program.
Street Race is for those pesky imports with the coffee can exhausts.
