hesitation when when accelerating
Hi I'm new to the forum. I brought a 90 F350 ext cab dually with the 460 in it(I really like body body style of those year fords because my first truck was a 90 f150 I-6) I have been lurking around to try and figure out why my truck is hesitating when I accelerate from a stop. When I am at a stop and go to accelerate I notice on my volt gauge has dropped and as I give some throttle to start accelerating the needle jumps up and the truck jumps forward. It does this when the truck has run for a little and warmed up (roughly about 15 min of run time). I'm thinking the voltage regulator? But I'm not sure.
I hate to add a second question to this post but, how to I check the timing for this truck. I'm having a hard time finding the timing marks or tab above the dampener? I tried searching around this forum but wasn't successful (it was probably staring me right in the face, I know it lol).
Sorry for the lengthy first post but i have off tomorrow and would like to solve these 2 problems plus moving the trans temp gauge from the pan ( PO welded a bung in the pan) to the test port to know exactly what the trans temp is and not the fluid.

The hesitation could be a simple vacuum leak (or several). When I bought my '94 it was bad. Replaced a few bad OEM plugs & plugged an open port. I still have a slight stumble & figure I would cause Ive had to replace another plug the other day. Plus it still has all of the OEM plastic VAC lines on it.
To check the timing you gotta pull the 'Spout' out, run a timing light then put the spout back in. fordfuelinjection.com will have info about the spout. (Iwould copy & paste for you but I only have 1/2 a pot of coffee in me & it hasnt kicked in yet).
