My matcos are usa? And the stuff they import's usually pretty good. I've got some of their witte screwdrivers

If you plan on using swivels with any kind of power tool you pretty much need pin and ball

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Buy the sizes I know I'll use now and buy the rest if/when the need arises.

5 SO sockets for $200 that are very easy to warranty or 14 GP sockets for $200 that have no warranty and are more likely to blow up in my face

99% of new Matco tools sold today are import from China or Taiwan. I think their boxes are still mostly American made though.

Matco sells Witte but does not make them.

I'd say go with SO if you know a dealer

Boxes are still USA, and all the sockets/ratchets/wrenches I've bought from my matco dealer in the last year are USA.

yeah I know they don't make Witte. Idk I kind of like the different vendor idea. They find whoever makes the best product and they rebadge it. Yeah, theres a huge markup but its a cool concept, mityvac evacuators, ir impacts rebadged, etc. Its a different approach then what SO does

To each his own. I think its like the chevy/ford thing, whichever you start with you stick with. My SO dealer is a huge ********, and my matco guy is awesome so that influences things

I will say my snap orn torx set kicks ****

i have been slowly replacing broken tools with harbor freight stuff.
seeing as most tools are made on the same assembly line in china and just stamped with different names anyway, why pay more for the same junk?

i have 2 sets of impact sockets that get used all the time and are still in perfect shape.
the same with the 4 1/2 grinders. i have 3 of them. one for a flapper disc, one for grinder wheel, and one with cutoff wheel. all are over 5 years old and still work fine.
the Pittsburgh brand wrenches are just as good as any others, and the ratchet wrenches work great.
i can got to harbor freight and walk out of the store with $100 in hand tools that would cost $400 anywhere else.

I've got a old electric impact from harbor freight that's about 6-7 years old an still works fine. Its been abused, ran over, an packed full of mud for all 7 years. Also dropped on the highway in the case running 60mph.

Almost all my stuff is mastercraft from Canadian tire. Lifetime warranty just bring it in and they replace it if broke. Bought all my stuff on the 60% off sales they have

Yeah good return policy but lately you can only warranty it once!
The maximum series stuff ain't too bad though.
I've probably burnt out about 8 mastercraft 5" angle grinders! I now have a Hitatchi.
