So far I've taking my 2011 F150 back to the dealership twice to FIX this clunk sound and bump feel when coming to a complete stop and also when taking off from a complete stop. First time I took my truck in the work order reads as follow; "Verfied clunk found TSB 12-07-13. Removed grease cover and checked splines. Applied grease to splines. Installed new boot and clamps. Road test - Clunk gone."

The second time I took my truck in for the same reason the work order reads as follow; "Verified bump stop. Reprogrammed PCM to latest calibration road test and bump stop gone."

I have a appointment this Wed 10/31/12 for the third time to try and get this dang clunk/bump feel when tanking off and stopping FIXED. I really don't know why this is becoming such a big issue... I guess I should've bought a Silverado instead. Any suggestions???
Go buy a Silverado

Update: Took my truck in for the third time and same bump feel its as if nothing was done "technician" said that's as good as its gonna get nothing is wrong its just the characteristic of the truck and that it won't cause me any future problems. Well I think that's a bunch of bull but we'll see only time will tell.

im noticing a little clunk from reversing, neutral, into drive.

what has me worried is that on the rear axle, drivers side, front half springs don't look too straight and there is rub marks near where the brake lines are on the springs yet i dont feel anything on the lines... 850~ miles on the truck to..

2009 F150 STX 4.6 v3 with 6 speed tranny. Have same clunk issue. When slowing down and then give it some gas, feels like bottom dropping out of truck. It is much worse when towing say uphill hard and it has to down shift. It's not the first downshift but the second. Took it to the dealer and they reprogrammed it. It is not gone, but happens a lot less.

My '10 XLT 4x4 has the clunk too. I have a one piece driveshaft, but everyone else seems to have the two piece? The dealer still did the TSB for greasing the slip yoke and it drove butter smooth for about 600 miles and now the clunk is coming back.

What exactly is the problem? Are the male/female connections too loose causing the play? Can buying a better slip yoke that fits better stop the clunk? I read somewhere on a Ford forum that a guy took a thick rubber hose and basically jammed it between the threads of the male and female components and it stopped his clunk. I plan on keeping this truck to over 200,000 miles and I'm afraid that wont happen unless there's a permenant solution for the clunk. Our 01 Expedition has over 140k on the clock and runs perfect

is anyone having this issue with the 3 73 gears? on side note Id guess that the standard axle is less likely to have this noise....

I get a clunk in my 66 when I let off the gas. Motor and trans mounts are tight. previous owner thinks pinion needs to be tightened but that is coming from somene who had a 2700 Variable venturi carb on it and brushpainted white rustoleum everywhere. I have noticed that rear spring bushings are shot. I think that might be the cause. The bolts are welded on the ends so removing the springs are going to need a sawzall . Was it common to weld the bushing bolts to prevent theft? anyway I'm not convinced its the pinion. All help and opinions are appreciated!

I had zero issues on my 07 F-150 4x4 5.4l in 100k miles inspite of it being union made.
