The 2003? 305/555. Is that what your neighbor had?

No...His is auto...

I was just curious...I remember having my 01 4 speed auto...and always reading about an 01 5 or 6 speed HO. So I was just wondering what the difference was.

Ignore your buddy with the Dodge he is just trying to make up for the fact he bought a Dodge.

Dodge has been running a Commercial in Western Canada they sure brag about the Cummins engine. They are pushing the Cummins name to sell a real POS truck.

Dodge truck have been junk for years and they are still that way today, cheaply built crap.

You should be subjected to work on them. Pure punishment.

Many of the dodge trucks could be tweaked and tuned to HIGH hp with very little effort....
but you were still driving a dodge truck !

I'll take my 05 Ex with a $400 tuner and 425 hp and 750+ lbft over it anyday !

I have friends that work at an independant mechanic shop they HATE working on Dodge trucks.

A lot of the parts on the Cummins are Chrysler made so now you are fighting the dealer for parts most Dodge dealers the parts depts are horrible they have no idea. Get the parts oh crap they are the wrong ones. The way the trucks are designed makes them hard to work on not mechanic friendly.

Everything is so cheaply constructed especially on the truck themselves parts break so easy.

The mechanics at the shop littlerally fight about who has to work on a POS Dodge truck.

Own a Ford and GM no problems getting it repaired, own a Dodge better have a another vehical to drive while your Dodge truck takes a week to 2 weeks to get fixed.

Cummins in British Columbia Canada doesn't want anything to do with the 5.9 or 6.7 under the hood of a Dodge. They said Dodge has modified the engine we don't want anything to do with it. Cummins attitude is we sold the engine to Chrysler it is their problem no ours.

The rule of thumb is you buy a Dodge Cummins you are stuck with it nobody wants them. Anybody that does buy them finds out the truck is a total piece of crap the engine is okay don't have any engine issues the Dodge dealer can't fix them.

Heard many horror stories with the new 6.7 people having problems with them the Dodge dealer can't work on it. Dodge dealers ship the truck to a independant diesel shop to get the truck fixed.

I drive a Ford for a reason they have been dependable for me for the last 15 years and my family for 40 years.

I can tell you from experience that a stock 6.0 will walk away from the Cummins in a drag race. I hooked the 6.0 I had on a sled at a local tractor pull and actually out pulled several tuned 24v's and a common rail. I think though that came down to traction and I was the only CCLB truck there. I'd take a 6.0 over a cummins anyday. really the 6.0 felt just as quick stock to stock with my 6.4.

What exactly did Dodge mod on the 5.9 and 6.7? The APPS is a non-Cummins part but throttle systems are typically the chassis company's job anyways. Other than the the fuel filter is different, but still made by Fleetguard (aka Cummins filtration) but as far as the engine goes I never had a problem getting parts from Cummins Northeast... unless I missed something.

I am not going to argue that dodge puts their trucks together with bubble, duct tape and hope but the ISB is one of the few choices they got right.
