1996 F250 460 towing mods
Towing my travel trailer (30' ~8000lbs loaded) seems to be somewhat taxing on my truck with 4.10 gears, more than I would expect at least. It seems that the truck just falls a little flat by mid range rpm's (no tach at the moment). After reading up here I'm planning to perform the intake "horn" removal mod. I'm also considering cat delete and potentially 3" exhaust upgrade. I believe I did a fuel filter change last summer (rarely driven after that - tow vehicle only) but I'll check that as well. I've also ran a few tanks of lucas injector cleaner through and several times recommended strength. So questions:
does anyone make an exhaust delete? or should I just take to country muffler shop and have them cut and replace that section of pipe?
Is the summit branded 3" exhaust system adequate or should i spend the extra on flowmaster?

Your truck should have no issues with that load.. Headers! I just opened my exhaust up, got rid of the cat, single flowmaster w/dual 2.5's out the back. Sounds awesome! Runs a bit cooler, and pulls great! I pulled a 12K trailer last week for a buddy. Man I love third gear! Cruised at 65 no prob..
