New Dump Truck Rig
johneeckert, that is an excellent ranch or work truck.I would start by checking all the fluids and replace any that look to be old as in brake and engine oil.Next I would pull the drums and inspect the brake linings, bearings and components for wear and failure as you might not know what the previous owner might have neglected. Check the drive lines for any wear or slop in the u-joints,heavy loads put a lot of stress on the drive line so you want it in top shape.Make sure all the lights and electrical components are working, sometimes these old trucks are a wiring mess from past repairs and add on's as well as the emergency brake. I would also check out all the pumps and related controls for the PTO drive. If you have any specific questions on your truck ask them here or in the appropriate forum, there is usually someone who can answer your questions.
