BBF aliuminum heads for 799?

NEW 429 460 ALUMINUM FORD PERFORMANCE CYLINDER HEADS | eBay

Would you buy these? My DoVe head needs rebuilding and will still have low exhaust ports. Price seems mighty low and add reads for a pair.

These are basically cheap chinese copies of an as cast D0VE head.

Do a search on 460ford or 429-460.com for "procomp heads".

better yet go to the engine tech and make a thread that says 'pro comps are the best'

but in all reallity you can prolly find a set on one of the mentioned sites and find a decent set of heads

The only perfomance gain you would see is the 90lbs you lose off the nose of the truck.

They are well known for bad hardware, irregular combustion chamber volume, poor valve seats and overall just chitty machining.

Save for a set of TFS streets or a set of FRPP SCJs with pistons.

Turn and run as fast as you can away from that junk! If it's a street/strip aluminum head you want go the way like Kris said of the TFS Streets or the FRPP SCJ's. Lem Evan's over at BFEvans' Race Parts has a really good deal going on the heads, but you'll need a piston swap or a re-notch of the current pistons to make them work.

Speaking of Procomp crap. I was at my local shop (where I had my motor prepped) and there was an older chevy guy that came in with a 350 that he was having a hard time to fit the heads on. That thing was chock full of Procomp parts from the entire rotating assembly, heads, rocker arms, even the balancer and water pump. He bolted it all together and none of the push rods would clear the openings and none of the guides would fit. George pulled a head and you could visably see each piston notch was different and even the spark plug holes were in different spots from chamber to chamber. Now he's wanting George to make it right. Shows that you can spend money now for good parts or you can go cheap and still spend money later making the junk work somewhat reliably.
