Will any NP205 TCase bolt to any NP435 Tranny?

I'm asking this because the 78 Bronco I bought for parts came with an NP435 4-speed (more like a pile of parts) and a Dana 21 TCase.

When I'm done stripping what I need off the Bronco, I might want to get it running. However, I'd really want low range for my uses. I was wondering if I could just find a NP205 TCase and bolt it up instead of the Dana.

Also, since my NP435 is just a box of parts, would I be better off finding a new Trans and TCase? I really don't want to spend much (or any) money to get this thing running since it's just my parts beast right now.

Will any NP205 TCase bolt to any NP435 Tranny?

As long as your NP435 has the four wheel drive bolt pattern around the output shaft it will bolt to an NP205. Two wheel drive NP435's have four equally spaced studs around the output shaft. On Four wheel drive versions (married or direct mounted) the lower two output shaft studs are spaced farther apart. You may need another adaptor and shaft to go between the transmission and transfer case.

Cool Will any NP205 TCase bolt to any NP435 Tranny?

The NP435 (good), T-18 (better), T-19 (best), will all interchange (Ford). For a married trany/transfer case, the trany output shaft is longer than on a 2wd or divorced, an adapter housing fills in the gap. Note; Chevy, Dodge, Ford all used NP205’s, but they all have a different number of splines on the input shaft. Ford used an 31 spline.

Double check my information, but I think I am right.

yes imputs are different but are interchangable... with large bearing only GM32 Ford31 and Dodge29 spline shafts swapt directly /// with small bearing only would be GM27 and 10spl, and Dogde 23spl swaping directly

I am not trying to **** anyone off by dragging this one out of the dust & cobwebs but does this mean the np205 t-case I'm getting will fit on my truck? I have an np205 from a 79 F150 Ranger with an auto trans and I want to put it on my truck with an np435 manual trans. Can I use my original adapter (for my truck) or will I need a new one for np435 to np205? I assume the splines are the same?
