question about gauges?

I have a 1977 F100 flare side that has spent most of its life out in the sun. As a result, the pointers on the gauges have faded. They were a nice color of orange but now they are white. Has anyone ever painted them or used another color besides the original stock color orange? If so, what other colors have you used or even seen.
Thanks!

A buddy of mine had a little touch up bottle of toyota red. I used it to paint the needles in my ranger, i like it and get alot of compliments. At first i thought it would make them harder to see at night, but theyre not much worse. Considering using red on my 79 as it will be red outside and red accents inside, but theyre not faded enough to warrant messing with em.

A little polish will go a long ways on the clear lense over the guages too, made a world of difference to mine.

Oh i also know a girl out at the track that has a 70 roadrunner that she did hers pink with fingernail polish, havent seen em tho, only heard about it.

Testors paint works great and you can buy a real small bottle of it. A couple of light coats and you should be good.

painting gauges

Thanks for the responds everyone!
I have been thinking about using a fluorescent orange or green. I was also thinking about a glow in the dark color. I will post pictures after I finish in my home page.
Thanks again,
James
