I had a screw in my ankle for years...it never bothered me to much...UNTIL I came back from the desert! As soon I wen't back to a cold climate it started hurting real bad....so I took it out.
I would think about taking it out after a year or 2 because:....
You may find yourself an old man with no insurance to cover it....just something to think about.
