yeah. it might be useful running away from Irene, but I don't think the truck will run for long at this speed. For several reasons.

Ford says that its engineers and Oklahoma-based Hajek Motorsports only installed a high pressure fuel pump, new fuel injectors, new turbos, and modified the compression ratio.
Not exactly what I would consider "Mostly Stock". Fast truck regardless. He must be using some majorly shallow highway gears.

1. So what if it runnning on another thread.
2. No need to state the obvious that this truck is totally impractical for personal use.

3. Just thought it was interesting...If you don't want to read it then dont read it.

I think it is Very good considering how little aero mods were done to the truck.

And then look at what the bowtie group managed with a duramaxipad 166.?? MPH ....PITYFULL!!

Go FORD!!

ad 1 I believe it is against the forum rules to have multiple topics on the same subject
ad 2 it might not be so obvious to everybody and some actually take it serious
ad 3 some find watching grass growing interested as well -if you don't like to have replies -don't start the topic.

than why not to have some fun with it after-all?

#1 If its against the rules then they can ban me from the fourms, for not knowing.

#2 Agreed.

#3 I took it as sarcasm which I don't tolerate from anyone. Sorry if I offended you. But I took the comment as sarcastic initally and honestly I'm really tired of being nice to people about it.

But water under the bridge none the less.

Yep, a 9" rear with 2.40 gears. Got a big hairdryer on it, but stock trans. One team member commented that the record pass was done with almost no smoke, since they had a very conservative tune in it. They left a lot on the table.

Don't really care if it has no application in "real world". Most racing doesn't. But still really cool to see.

I see big difference between racing and this.
In racing you have competitors running side by side and you clearly see who is the winner at the finish line.
Here you can read BS given by one manufacturer and compare it to the BS given by other manufacturer a year or more ago.
For me BS is BS.

I think you are mixing 2 different things.
Diesel Formula 1 is pretty promising concept.

Than thinking about it second time, I wonder if the same truck would get to the same speed with gas engine running 20% ethanol?
