I mean I'd like a 5spd but where I live it's impractical. Waaay to much traffic my moms 5spd 4.0 explorer doesn't get the mpg it should cause of the traffic around here. Plus like I said I have no where to do it at I'm not allowed to work on it like that at my house dads house dads rules

if i were you id look on craigslist for a truck thats the same model and year as yours. and see if it has the same trans. then swap the trans and scrap the truck. if you bought a junk truck for like 1100 took the trans out and put your old one in the bed then scraped it you may get 800 to 1100 scrap depending on scrap prices by you. but always the chance that trans could be junk.

Well got some news. Apparently the po had the trans changed before it had a factory reman in there an he said it was rebuilt after that to boot. And they didn't flush out the system he said the crap ran through ruined the tc front pump clutches an a needled bering I think he said so it's gonna cost me 2100 in the end just cause I'm having a upgraded tc put back in. Good thing is that if the trans breaks for any reason that he fixes it on him.

So got my truck back thank god. Love the beast. But now I find I have a fuel leak the valleys wet an drips on the ground so I'm almost positive it's from the fuel bowl I now get to take it apart an find the leak fuel too expensive here to be wasting it.
