So I picked up a F350

Long story short I have to swap my flatbed out to a regular bed on my dually.. Or my insurance skyrockets. So beds out here for duallies are rare as hens teeth....ended up buying a crew cab V10 4x F350. 6 inch lift D60 etc I need the bed and got some dually flares I found cheap.
So anyway I’m gonna pop a few interior pieces off and probably part the rest out. Crazy as it was cheaper to buy the whole truck and tow it to my hoise than to buy the bed. Literally cost me $100 less to buy the truck, tow it and the dually flares than to buy the bed alone. There were cheaper beds out there but needed reskinning which would make any savings worthless.

i have a 1999 F250 7.3 that I’m kicking around selling. So should I swap to the F350 axles to “upgrade “ from the D50. I doubt it’s gonna bring anymore money as most people around here don’t care. The only thing is I just completely rebuilt the D50 from hub to hub. New seals hub units etc. if I keep the 99 which I’m probably going to keep should I throw the axles the 6 inch lift kit dual fox shocks rear airbags etc on the 99 from the 2001 or just sell all that stuff an keep the 99 as is. I dont go off road. When I do it’s just fire roads for deer hunting so not exactly conquering the Rubicon.

are Dana 50s even something people buy? I thought everyone wants D60s

thanks off reading.

I'm not sure if there's a market for the D50. Just like other truck parts fitting on the 1st gen SD as an "upgrade" I'm sure the D50 is an upgrade for someone else but I don't know how much in demand it might be.

I don't know if there's much design/strength upgrade from the D50 (10.25" ring gear) to the D60 (10.50" ring gear). Even if there is I would keep the rebuilt D50. It's not worth the time to swap everything and I think you've negated any benefit you'd get since you rebuilt the 50.

yeah that’s pretty much my conclusion. I may keep the dual shock hoops and the rear 4 inch blocks for
my dually. And sell the rest of the parts. Someone may want the axles for a off road build.
