Question There is a mouse in my door!!

My driver's door on my 1990 Ford F-250 sounds like there is a mouse living in the hinge!

Everytime I open or close it, it goes "squeak, squeak, squeak!"

I've sprayed almost a whole bottle of WD-40 in the hinges, but it still squeaks!!

It sounds like one of those neglected old trucks you see on off roading trips, but this one isn't neglected!

OK, the body is a bit rusty and the paint isn't all there, but it is cared for!

Would be much better than WD for this purpose....

Put moth ***** in the door, the odor will offend the mouse & make it leave raking it's squeek w/ it.

Use white lithium grease in a spray can. Spray the pins & bushings first w/ door open then spray roller while opening & closing the door so it covers the entire roller. Repeat several times.
How are the pins & bushings, has your door dropped? May need to replase them as well.

The door hasn't dropped, so I'll try to find some white lithium grease spray when I'm out running errands tomorrow morning.

+1

I use 880 Crown and chassis aerosol. Good stuff! I use it on all moving parts at every oil change latches, hinges Etc. Keeps the mice out and the metal in.

You want to use a lubricant that will flow between the working parts of the hinge. If you use a spray grease, make sure it stays fluid long enough to get into the working parts of the hinge pins and rollers. You do not want something building up on the outside of the working parts and creating a seal where lubrication will never flow. A spray lubricant will flow and work right now. If you have no portable lubrication available, pull the engine dipstick and transfer some engine oil to the hinge. Might take a few trips but it will work.
