Running rough

Okay, The only thing that I haven't done to try to fix this problem is buy a new truck.
When you try to drive at a slow rate of speed, 25mph to 40mph. The truck seems to be starving for fuel. Front tank and or back tank.

You try to put your foot thru the floorboard it runs like a raped ape (to quote my dad when he was alive)

I was thinking about changing the fuel filter but that was done less than 3500 miles ago.

I was thinking about putting in an additive to my fuel tanks to clean out the fuel lines.

Any one have any luck with STA-BIL or green foam, may be Lucas. to dump in the tanks to see if there is water build up? But I don't see how that would be being as this has been going on for a couple months now?

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator?

I'm sure you have checked for codes.. If not that is the first thing I would do..

From what you are saying I would be looking for abnormal O2 sensor or throttle position sensor readings..

Been there done that. I checked codes before I took it back to the mechanic. I left it a couple of days he said he never got it to do what I was tell him it was doing. The only things I could think it is are dirty injectors, or O2 sensor, but it's been replaced. (sensor)

I do not believe in putting anything in the fuel tanks for Injector cleaning.
Any good service place should be able to put a Fuel Injector Cleaner into the engine through the Fuel test point on the fuel rail and run the engine on straight Injector cleaner.

They use a pressurized container with Injector cleaner in it and hold the pressure to the fuel rail at about 38psi with the fuel pressure regulator disabled so no cleaner goes back to the tank. They run it like this for about 30 minutes. When I do this to my trucks they run a lot better.

I do use STA-BIL for the fuel tanks on stored trucks and RV's. I also run Sea-Foam into them through Brake Booster Vacuum hose but I put nothing in the tanks for Injector cleaning.

I am going to have my mechanic try that next but you have thought he would have done it before now. Although it seems like every time I take my truck there for work I pay his payroll for him.

I talked to him a little bit ago on the phone and he said we should try that before we change the injectors.

Also he said that he replaced the fuel pressure regulator. I think he knows I not a happy camper at this point, for me to call him at home on a Sunday

I will be there before he opens in the morning.
