pulling a 94 ranger

I was thinking of using our 94 2x4 4.0 automatic ranger for a toad behind my motor home. Would I have to disconnect the drive shaft? Or can I just put it in neutral.

You will have to drop the driveshaft in an auto tranny, but not in a standard tranny. But you can get a quick release for the driveshaft to make it easier. Also mark the driveshaft in some manner so it remains balanced when you reattach it...you can drop the shaft from the diff in about 10 minutes or less with the right 12-point socket...forget the size but it's available at parts stores.
