problem with recon white lightning kight strip

problem with recon white lightning kight strip
one of the guys in work has a recon white lightning light strip on his truck.
he is having some problems with it.
when the brake is steped on, or the driver side blinler is turned on, the parking lights flash. but if i take the driver side rear light out, it does not flash.
i rewired it,
reverse lights, parking lights hooked to the license plate light, and the ground direct to the frame.
it still does it after the rewireing.
anyone have any ideas.
i should add it is a 2004 4 door short box 4 wheel drive.
