Who reproduces the 1975/77 F100/350 Cruise Control only steering wheel? Dennis Carpenter ($300.00).
Carpenter also reproduces the '75/77 Cruise Control horn pad with switches ($200.00).
These prices were taken from Carpenter's 1967/79 truck repro parts catalog (2011 printed version, pages 20 & 21).
When you buy parts from a repro parts seller that they do not reproduce, they have to buy the parts from another source. YOU pay the difference in price!
Suggest you call Carpenter at 800-476-9653, order a free catalog. 95% of the parts reproduced for 1973/79's are Carpenter's.

I did figure that out, just a little late! What really burns me is that a tech from D.C. told me that from time to time they sell 2nds or blems to the other suppliers and he figured thats what i got ! LMC is a perfect target for this as my parts were still in the un opened D.C. boxes in a Big LMC box.. Maybe it's just trust! All i know is i own a FORD in AMERICA and i often am reminded "In God we Trust" at $700. or even $500. there must have been time to take a look most of all because at some point i saw
"Made in USA"

No as for the topic of this thread - every time someone has posted pictures of the gauge bezel in question I've voiced my "that thing is WAY over priced" opinion. Sorry somebody actually bought one and got burned. Looks like a $20 (max!) piece to me...

DC does not repro the cluster bezel without a radio. In fact, he doesn't repro any. As DC states, the 4 different cluster bezels listed are GENUINE Ford.
But these are only for 1978's (from 7/78) and 1979's. Prior year bezels are not listed. See page 81 in DC's catalog.
The most expensive is: D8TZ-10044D70-D .. Wood Grained with A/C & Radio: $150.00. The other 3 range in price from $100.00 - $135.00.

While it may seem dumb, unfortunately the blame goes out to those that don't research what they are buying and see that others have the same parts for less. If you do your research and check multiple vendors you'll get the best deal.

well it may be up to the buyer to research the product. the buyer cannot do much if the product is misrepresented by its makers.
this product is only produced by "classic dash"

Re-read my post and the quotes I posted. In the beginning I'm only talking about the quoted posts and the slight derail this thread took. At the end I talk about the overpriced hunk the OP bought.
No clue what Number is talking about when he quoted me as I didn't say anything about DC or over priced NOS parts. I was simply putting down the "Classic Dash" stuff as being way over priced.
Still he mentioned DC - I did not as I'd be the last guy on this board to be searching out original parts to pay too much for. When something on my trucks break I build it better myself or replace with something better. My gauge bezels will be custom aluminum ones made by me, and my gauges are all autometer. I'm FAR from the "keep it stock" type...

thanks i get what you were saying, there is some great stuff here on custom dashes, its what i should have done. I'm sure i would have a finished dash by now. and your right the thread did get hijacked a little.
the only reason i bought the classic dash product was because the classic dash people said it was an "exact fit" how ever it is not.

Just my .02c seems that 95% of time aftermarket stuff isnt 50% of what its cracked up to be, and 300% the price it ought to be. (dont hate on the percentages im on a roll lol)
im with chasetruck on this. If something breaks or i want it different i usually end up building or modifying rather than going aftermarket. All you end up with is a empty wallet and a knot in your stomach where dissapointment likes to settle. Besides, after you get done with building something you get that fuzzy feeling of accomplishment and know that you have something completely unique.
Sorry you got burned on this one, but at least now you know you can build something better, and no doubt much much cheaper.

My .02 here, but to me it looks like it would hold up just fine. you however, the op, sound like a snot nose kind who didn't get his way so you need to cry about it. I have mine waiting to go in when it gets back from the body shop. I test fitted it, and with a little test fitting it fit just perfect. I think you should try to work out the problem before you slander a company who makes a good product. but like I said, m .02

Calm down gents, there is a PM system and emails to use for this kinda of thing. The OP had a lagitamate arguement, whether true or not is debatable, simply whining about what he said doesnt need to be placed in a public forum for everyone to see. If you have good reasoning that the product isnt flawed, post some pictures and your opinion of it and be done with it. Whining and arguing isnt necessary.
