Take the part numbers with you to Ford to get the grease for the splines. Local parts dude around here could not find it without the part number. Also, two good-sized zip ties suffice to secure the boot - no real need for the metal clamps and special tool to tighten them....

1: Remove the driveshaft and grease or
2: Have the drive shaft replaced with the 4 inch aluminum one?

In my experience you are not missing much with the 4" alum driveshaft. I bought my 01 XLT Off Road new therefore had the driveshaft replaced via the TSB listed earlier with the aluminum one. The same issue has been back multiple times. Realistically, the only way to fix the problem is to follow the directions provided by Rockledge and lube the slip yoke. I do it every 20000km. I've been doing it since my ESP ran out at 160000km. The truck now has 267000+km

No, I haven't come across one, but I think the principles are the same, i.e., making sure you mark things beforehand to help you put it back together the way it was, and making sure you clean the splines real good, etc. There might be some instructions in the Haynes Manual for your BII for lubing the drivehsaft.
