New Truck Decisions

Looking at tradeing 04 F250 Six-O with 150,000 that has been a absolutely wonderful truck.

Curretly have 3 new chooses lined up, but just not sure what direction to go or just keep 04 and forget the new ones. The real reason looking at new ones is rebates are high and interests are low.

All 3 new one will be same price, trading in 04, but just not sure, all trucks are 6.7 , crew cabs and f350 lariets

1 is 2011 f450, lariat package, white two tone-thats alot of truck, I really do not like white and not happy that is does not have lariet interior package.

1 is f350 dually, lariet package, lariet interior package, and all other stuff I would like, again alot a truck and I'm just not sure about a dually as a daily driver.

1 is f350 short box, SRW, with lariat and interior lariet package and other stuff I like.

Any thoughts, opinions, suggests would be greatly appreciated?

Again dually's are just alot of truck and six tires to replace and rotation of those tires. F450 and F350 dually registration would be higher and Ins on those trucks.

Sorry for long post

I've driven a 6.0, owned a 6.4L, as well as a 6.7L. I can say that you will not be disappointed with either one. This is a great powertrain which has far more power and efficiency than your current truck.

Why do you want a DRW truck? What do you tow with it? I've always had SRW trucks and refused to even consider a DRW. I figure that unless I really need the capacity it wouldn't be worth the trouble. SRW trucks can tow over 15,000 lbs!

I regularly tow a 13000 pound fiver with my F350 SRW CC SB FX4 truck. Very happy with the performance.

Regards

Unless you need a DRW for heavy towing, get the SRW.

You will love the 6.7!

I've got an F350 SRW CC/SB with the Lariat trim and couldnt be happier. I regularly tow 13,000 in the Colorado mountains and have never felt like I needed 'more truck' (dually or 450).

Unless you 'need' the dual wheels for weight carrying capacity, why sacrifice economy, expense, winter traction, and maneuverability?

I had an '04 F250 with the 6.0, and then an '08 F350 w/ 6.4, and this '11 is a better towing rig hands-down (its also my daily driver).

Like Mike, I had a 6.0, a 6.4 and now a 6.7 - and it's the best by far!

mine too is a daily driver, so I stayed with the F-250. I pull a 13K fiver with it about 18 times a year - no problems once so ever.

Don't need to be towing heavy to need/want a dually, I have an in bed camper, while it is light it would just be nicer to have the extra stability of the dually.

Match the truck to your towing weight requirements for today and the next few years. The result is what you should get. Any more than that is purely personal choice and wants.

Why are those your only choices? As others said unless you need the dually don't get it.

Another comment is the SB SRW has a smaller fuel tank, it that means anything to you...............

If you are looking for a daily driver you might want to look at the rears also. I thought the 450 would have been good, weighing what I was going to pull on the weekends versus mpg I stepped down the rear and went 350, saving 2-3 mpg from what I understand.

Thanks for all the replies.

I do pull a 5th wheel, a snowmobile trailer and utility trailer with small kubota tractor. The 5 fiver is the heaviest, currently rolling across scales at just under 20,000 for GCVW.

Dually being considered for further 5 fiver upgrade, but after consideration, I have opted away from dully. Just to much truck for my needs.

So it will be a F350 SRW, however, I still can not bring myself to pull the trigger for a purchase. My current ride has been a outstanding ride and I just can not bring myself to spend the money.

Good call on the SRW decision...mine was rated up to 23,500 lbs GCWR.
