New 1993 F350 brake pedal issues

Well, my Father and I decided we needed a new tow rig/ project truck to tow around all the other project trucks and cars. We ended up picking up this 1993 F350 4 door longbox for 950 bucks. It may look a bit rough, but it has serious potential.

So far i've yanked the old twisted running boards, hung some new rubber on all 4 corners with painted wheels, did a tune up, smog pump delete, true dual 2.5"exhaust, a crankcase flush on the old 460, and just the other day, new brakes on all 4 corners. i went all out with calipers, wheel cylinders, new brake steel lines, shoes, pads, hardware, adjusters, drums, and turned rotors and went through the rear axle bearings as well. After bleeding till my fingers were numb and not seeing a bubble in forever, i figured i had this thing whooped. good pedal, hang the 6 tires on, hit my head on the never ending search for the rear axle fill plug, and i was ready to drive out. I had a nice, firm peal, right where it needed to be, but as soon as i started the truck, the pedal sank right to the floor. driving it around the block was a white knuckled ride, because the pedal just sank and it seemed there was little to no braking happening. Any suggestions to my braking conundrums?? i figure im going to jack up the rear and check my brake adjustment this afternoon, but looking for other suggestions...

Check the rear drum adjustment and then bleed the brakes. You need to bleed them in this order, right rear, left rear, RABS module (bolted to inside of left frame rail about level with drivers feet), right front, left front.

99% of the time, this behavior is because the RABS module wasn't bled.

I know, i've run into it many times before at work (im a mechanic at a small tire shop) People come in who did their own brakes and didnt bleed the ABS pump ...

I just wanted to make sure i wasnt overlooking something major.

And you also bench bled the master cylinder?

Then I'm out of ideas. You probably still have air in it somewhere. Did you do it by hand or with a pressure bleeder?

I didnt replace the master cylinder ... i was pondering if it was giving me an issue. i bled it "old school" with my pedal pumper complaining the whole time on how much it sucks doing this.

Well, off to run errands, and adjust brakes, and then find another pedal pumper for tonight ...
