Is my advisor/dealer screwing me over?
I have a '08 6.4 with 53,000 miles that I took to the dealer for the recall fix and because I was concerned with the black exhaust tips.
Now the recall is done.
DPF is bad and being change out under the ''Ford'' warranty, not my extended warranty. Total is up to $1600 with out labor yet.
My advisor said that the EGT sensor harness looks like the pack rats have chewed it up and needs to be replaced for $100 and no charge for labor. Pack rats are a problem here in southern AZ.
The $100 covers the sensor and the harness. Is my advisor helping me out by not charging me for the labor ''cause we are already there'' or am I getting screwed some how.............because it kind of feels like it.

As long as they're telling the truth, they are really helping you out. Remember that the warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship, and damage caused by rats isn't Ford's fault. I'd say you're getting quite a deal! Just ask to see the part they remove to make sure they're telling the truth.

You are doing just fine.
The new flash is also designed to catch things much faster should you have an issue.
After the fixes I drive it awhile and get used to the new flash and then I'd go do a test tow or two. Some have had some item crop up that were not obivious before.
That is a good thing.

I paid $109 w/tax for the harness and sensor. The pack rats did get to insulation but not to the wire its self. I have it at home. I will try and post a pic if anyone is interested. The DPF was taken care under the Ford warranty.
My advisor has always done good by me....glad to see that still holds true. Hopefully it will for a very long time!
Truck seems to drive a little differently too. Slightly less turbo lag? Maybe I just missed my truck.
