My 94 needs a turbo

Hello im new here,I recently bought a 1994 f350 turbo diesel and the turbo is shot. I found a complete reman for $895. And a new cartridge for $525.I'm on a tight budget because I am also doing the body over. So has anyone used a cartridge on here? My housings show some scuffs but I don't think they are too bad and should be reusable. Any advice will be apreciated.

A complete reman for 895, does that include the pipes? If your looking for a factrory turbo replacement they can usually be had at most Junkyards for less than 600....

A rebuild kit for 50 bucks would be best.

I heard to stay away from eBay rebuild kits. I have no way to balance the turbin plus I'm not sure I trust the fins because the have ben hitting the housing.

Oh, that certainly makes things different, maybe get a quote from a local shop for a rebuild. Or look on ebay and craigslist for a turbo, maybe even check your junkyards.

I called around for a used one from a salvage yard today.....no luck. Usedturbos.net sells a complete factory reman for $625. with no core charge so thats what im gonna do. There cartridge or center housing was $525. the same as turbochargerpros.com That way I dont have to mess with it, just bolt it in and go. Thanks for the help!
