post pic of your van

I used to race enduros with a similar setup but no cap, with a standard length van you can put not 2 but 3 bikes (2 forward, 1 backwards in the middle) behind the first bench, i bet with the extended length you could almost put 2 benches in it and still have room for bikes. If you've got a bunk up above, i'm just all kinds of jealous, i spent a lot of nights at races on a cot behind my van!!!
I love the cap on that thing. Which engine and what kind of mpg do you get? I'm guessing diesel by your sig, and probably 7.3 since you still have pop-out rear windows. Love it, sweet ride!

I added the pop-out windows after I bought the van. I found an old Chateau at the junkyard and bought all of the windows (including the trim, hinges, and latches) for the rear and side doors for $25 each. A van full of bikes, gas, and stinky riding gear needs all the ventilation it can get.
Parts interchangability is one of the things I love about Ford vans. My stock front seats had no armrests, which is annoying on long trips. I found some seats with armrests from an '08 and they bolted right in. I also added the console from a '10 ($25 on ebay), which is much nicer than the original console, which pretty much had one big hole to store things in. I also added power mirrors, windows, and door locks using OEM wiring I got from the junkyard for practically nothing. I converted from sealed beams to composite headlights using junkyard wiring for minimal cost.

It was actually converted from the factory by Pathfinder Vans. It looks as though they used the front end from a 4x4 F Series Truck or Bronco... Its all Dana 60 Straight Axles, Leaf Springs and a 3" Body Lift...

Could you do me a big favor and tell me how many inches you have between the bottom edge of the chassis under say the drivers door, and the ground?
I'm curious because the rig I'm looking at was converted over by Advanced Four Wheel Drive Systems and looks pretty tall already, and I wanted to see how much of a difference there was in a 'stock' van.
Thanks in advance, and yet again, you have a great looking van.

Haulin off junk.
Helpin a friend move.
Can't find my boat, have to scan them into my computer, the 22' pontoon was a monster compared to the van, or my 14'x6' dual axle trailer w9ith my ATV's and gear, my van was bought to tow, yet hasn't had the receiver in it for 3 years now. My 73 has changed a lot, the camper window holes have been filled in and a major dent was pulled out.
