Hello, all. The farm I work on has an old 1990 or 1991 F 250 4X4. We used this thing for years and years and years.
About two years ago, it started acting up. every time the engine gets hot, it shuts down, and will not restart until the truck cools down. I'd hate to see them junk an otherwise usable truck... the thing has a set of three ton overload springs on it to haul seed and stuff..over something that may be an easy fix.
The motor in question is a 351 with fuel injection.
Thanks,
Mike

I ran into a similar issue on a v-6 in a dodge dakota, turned out being the distributor. Might be a good idea to put some inline spark testers on and see what that tells you. The v-6 I had the issue with was throttle body injected so when pouring some fuel in didn't get it started I went and checked spark. I don't know if it would do engine damage but you could try spraying some carb cleaner or starter fluid in the air filter track and see if that'll do it. (Works on a diesel but its not smart...)
