Post V/B Code Swap Dilemma

Post V/B Code Swap Dilemma
Just spent the day installing my V and B codes finally. I noticed when I was putting the front springs in that they had 3 leaves. The bottom leaf also didn't fit perfectly tight to the other two, much like an add-a-leaf. Scratching my head I thought "surely there can't be an add-a-leaf on these front springs the seller told me were stock." So I continued in denial until the front and rear springs were on. The front now sits easily 1-1.5" higher than the rear with Vs in the front and Bs in the back, retaining the factory 2" block.
Would someone please confirm for me that there are only two leaves in unmolested V codes? So now I'm split between taking the bottom leaf out of the front springs and letting things ride with my 285s, or getting a 4" block for the rear, a set of 315/75-16s, and possibly new wheels, and live my dream early (I wanted to lift the Ex a little someday). The only problem is my 285/75-16E BFG KOs are only 18,000 highway miles old (still have the **** on them) and I really don't need to be spending this much money on my full-time-student-living on what he made last summer's income. Anybody wanna trade almost brand new 285/75-16 BFGs for 315/75-16s in reasonable shape?

A buddy of mine had a pair of 1" blocks/basically camber shims that gave me just enough lift in the rear to make it something I can live with. I also don't think the 285s look that bad on it right now. I will probably wear them out before getting new 315s or at least until I find a deal on some lightly used ones.

Welcome to the EX forum Red!
Skinsfan6 was last here on 10-3-18, so he may not respond with your answer. But his front V codes were actually somewhat of a mystery due to having an extra leaf added to them.
Have you read through the big suspension measurements thread to see the many various mods and results? What is your goal with your EX's suspension?

Improve ride quality, safety during towing, modest lift (2-2.5”) is fine for me. Truck will only see light off roading. I’m swapping out the front with V codes this weekend and decided to lay-off the 2” hanger kit and use stock. Research showed the v codes alone will raise it 1 to 2”. Just not sure about rear, that’s why I asked if he mod’d his or just straight B codes with “shims”. Wanted to add min 18” wheels, possibly 20s if this setup would still allow for 33” tires. Also adding 30mm sway bar and replacing all shocks.
Please consider starting a new thread thread to discuss your EX and all of the questions and work that your are doing to it and what the best methods may be to get you to your goals. A separate thread will generate more traffic and comments specific to your questions than tagging onto the end of an old thread like this one. Glad to have you here and feel free to jump into the deep end and join in the great collective we have going here!
Ill share my mods and comments about my dedicated heavy tow rig EX and how well it has served us for over 41K towing miles in your new thread.
