Currently with my 04 F350, 6.0L diesel, I have had a few times while driving I would hold the pedel to the floor perform DLYSI, a few times while I have had the AC on I would have a serious cloud of black smoke to the point were other vehicles are still at the light since they can't see. Most times if I perform the DLYSI, I would usually have AC/Vent off so the fan isn't running, when I perform DLYSI with those items off there won't be a problem and no black smoke.
Most times I don't mind the black smoke, but could there be something wrong when I have the AC on and gun it and black cloud?

Also I am think of getting the Edge CTS Diesel Evolution Programmer, currently I use the ScanGuage, which I velcroed to the dash, so there are times trying to view the guage while driving is a little difficult, anyone use or have used the Edge CTS.

 

The tuner will make you smoke more in my opinion.....


fouled up egr valve might be causing the smoke,,,

 

Lived the EGR valve routine. Too easy to go ahead and check it and clean it up. Give that a shot.

 

Thanks, I'll get the gaskets tomorrow just incase, I'm also getting a new air filter, I bought this truck used, and you never really know until you take things apart and see how bad they are.
