I am looking to change my mono chromatic instrument cluster panel surround to one froma lariat with chrome rings. When i find the part it asks for either full messge center or mini message center. Can anyone tell me or show me the difference? Thanks for the help.

Ok so that's what i have minus the chrome....what the heck does the mini message center look like?

 

I think the mini only has one line and then you have to push buttons to get more info.

 

I will have to check my owners manual, maybe there's a pic.

 

looked in my owners manual and pics of xl, xlt, fx4, and lariat guage lens'....the only difference i see is that the lariat does not have the trip reset hole (its on the side) so the one i am looking to buy is from the fx4. Here is what I am finding: Tousley Ford Parts Depot

so emailed tousley ford and they helped me out from their website. "for an FX4, you'll want to order part number 8C3Z-10890-C"

problem solved.

 

well now the hard part..getting the dash apart.

 

well seeing as i dont have extra money to order right now....i may go search the junk yards and see what i can find. I dont expect to find any fx4 or lariats in the junk yard but you never know...but if i do i can practice taking the dash apart on theirs first

 

Did the part you ordered have the chrome masks around the gauges? I am also looking to do something similar.
