remove the govenor off my truck

ok heres my deal i have a 89 f150 custom with the 300ci I6 the original computer messed up an oreily's scrfewed me over on a new one so i got a computer from a 91 that has the e4od govenor etc...... anyway my truck lacks power now and i was wondering if and/or how there is a way to take off the govenor because before i could get it to 120 now it will only go 105 and my girlfriend has a chevy and she can out run me.............but not out drive me i could almost win but not quite now i know the straight 6 is just for towing but sometimes i need the take off but it doesnt even have that anymore

probably computer related. you should really always use a computer from the correct truck age. somebody correct me if im wrong, but i would think that would be logical.

no idea on the "guvnah'" though :/

A new flash for the computer might do it, BUT, so would using the PROPER computer..

well i would have put the correct computer in it but.......i needed to get my truck goin for work so i had no choice in the matter thanks for the help............chevys rule!

But to remove the limiters you need a tuner like a Tweecer or Quarterhorse.

your 89 f150 did 120 mph at one point? that sounds crazy to begin with. the speedos dont even go that high

I think he meant kilometers per hour, which is about 75 MPH.

A 300 I6 getting a 1989 F150 up to 120 MPH would be scary stupid IMHO if such a feat were even possible.

The stories that children come up with.................

Back on topic, the computers are not interchangeable.
