I can see without glasses both distance and reading but I have a weird situation because of retina surgery and one cataract on my left eye.

Haha, yeah pry a little young for bifocals.

My dad was that way, then when he turned 40, it's like a switch flipped and now 10 years later he has about maxed out the strength on his cheaters. His distance is fine, but his close up is terrible. Hopefully when I get there maybe I'll just even out. Lol.

I think Madpogue has a crystal ball....... How'd you know I have cheap *** reading glasses all over the place? I'm not a pretty man, and I look worse in glasses. I'd rather fly one of you guys here to read my odometer once a year.

Because all my reading glasses were cheap-*** too.....

I, on the other hand, have had glasses on my face since before age 3, and am so ugly that glasses are an improvement. It actually feels weird _not_ having glasses on, and not just because of the vision, it just, Idunno, "feels weird".

Anyone here seen the movie Brazil? Maybe you could put one of those fresnel lens magnifiers in front of the odometer display...

I saw magnifier lenses for a welding helmet the other day. If you used one of them it would work for the gear selector too

Alright, I'll play. I had 402k on the '96 when I sold it and there are about 207k miles on the '97 I have now. I can't claim responsibility for most of those miles, but that's where they're at anyway.

Not to mention a daily dose of gruesome thread derailments (guilty!).....

Did you have to perform any major surgery to get the '96 to 402k ?

I didn't HAVE to, but I did swap to a lower mileage motor just because I could. I did that around 396k. The old motor was running strong, but needed injectors pretty bad and I picked up a parts truck for cheap with a lower mileage motor in it so I just swapped the whole thing over. The truck wasn't still running the original trans either (ford reman). I did a lot to the truck to improve it mechanically, but the rust was the worst part of it. It's still on the road though. I sold it to a local guy that still gets in touch with me from time to time. He's in love with it.

This is from August, but I've only added about 2k since then.

Here's mine, yes that is the correct mileage. It only gets about 5K a year of drive time.
