What are some of the common oil leaks for our 7.3's?
Have a leak right now, engine oil dripping off the bottom of the trans (manual) and onto the ground, stops dripping once it's not running. Haven't had a chance to investigate and figured I'd hit up the forum before trying to pinpoint it.

Anybody got any ideas how to locate the cause? Thninking about shooting degreaser and pressure wash the undercarriage and as far up the bell as possible to try and find the source. Any other ideas? Thanks guyz! Oh yeah, she has 130K on her right now.

 

Don't waste your time cleaning the bottom side unless you're just worried about the drips. Check the top of the motor first. Most leaks show up in the valley (between the two heads) and then drip down the bell housing like you're seeing.

If you've got puddles of oil down in the valley, clean them up and then try to narrow it down. It's probably just an o-ring leak, you just need to figure out a general location so we can narrow it down.

And I'd keep the power washer away from the top side of the motor. Too much electrical up there.
