I can't leave well enough alone...
So I got bored with the ordinary 2008+ console I put in. So today I added some lights to it.
Here is my original 08+ console install thread:

So today I went to Autozone and picked up a set of LED strips for $20. I also picked up a "normally closed" switch from radio shack for $4 so the lights will turn off when the lid is closed.
I found some of that red and black wire thats attached to each other and ran it under the carpet to the console to an existing hole I drilled in the floor. I placed one LED strip on each side of the console and routed the wires to the front left side of the console. Cut to length.
From there I wired the +12V to one pole of the switch and the ground to the ground of the two led strips. Then twisted the two +12V wires from the LED strip together then onto the other pole on the switch.
I used a "normally closed" switch which means when you push the button is breaks the circuit, turning off the lights.
I drilled a small hole in the console and installed the switch. I used a small piece of foam with adhesive backing I picked up at Michael's for $.99 for an 8.5x11" sheet. I put a small circle of it on top of the button for the switch to bring it slightly above the console surface so the lid will contact it.
Also not shown, is a larger wire loom piece I am using to cover up the large bundle near the switch.
The lights look really good. In the picture they look a little too bright but in person they look amazing!

Thanks!
Yes, but I couldnt solder those connections. They were too close together and I would have had to do one of them in my truck, and I didnt want to do that. Its pretty secure the way I have it now.
You can get white too, but I like the blue
