Hey guys, just thought id share my new purchase. I 've ben looking all summer for an f250-350 for $3,000 or less. I do bodywork for a living so body rot(common here in the northeast) wasen't to big a concern, as long as cab and frame are good. So after looking at some real junkers I found this one. A 1994 f350 XLT reg cab longbed 7.3 idi turbo diesel 5 speed with 168,000 miles. New clutch, brakes and michelin tires. Asking price was $3,500.After looking at the truck and realizing it needed batterys, (Truck would not start)fenders and a box. (Cab and frame looked good) I offered him $2,500. He accepted and agreed to replace the batterys and cables ($500 bucks) and I drove it home. I found a rust free box from Tennesee locally for $700 so I bought that too. So I was thinking I got a pretty good deal until I decided to check the turbo for end play (A week after I got it home) only to find a lot of end play and scuff marks in the housing. I knew I should have checked that first but I forgot when I first looked at it and it was pouring rain when I picked it up. So she's parked for now waiting for a body job and new turbo. I love the truck anyways and I don't mind putting some money into it to make it a really nice truck again. So what do you guys think? Did I do ok?
