how to replace steering box?
hey goys i have a 91 150 im wondering what the best way to go about doing this is, do i go at it from the bottom and undo it? it seems pretty simple but is there anything i should know about doing it, got my reman steering box today... mine old one is hard to keep between the lines lol

A friend of mine who's been through these jobs suggested putting a 2x4 across the engine bay under the hood and tie the steering box from it so it does not drop when you remove the bolts. Also you can use it with a pulley or similar set up to hold the new one while you bolt it back on.
I might try doing it to my truck too. Those things seem to wear out pretty damn quickly. My truck only has 79K miles and it already shows signs of steering play

Just did my '89 F150. Ya, it's a bear to hold up there and get the bolts started. Another set of hands would be great(if you find a set). I got it wedged up in there and wiggle a bolt in. Yes, don't cross thread it as it will likely strip the box holes out. Be careful.
