New truck outside!!
Hi guys, and girls.
just bought and picked up my new (to me) F250 4x4 6.9 idi with a 4 speed manual tranny.
had a lot of fun, trying to get her out on a narrow road, as she has the turning radius, of a small ship.
she runs great, when warm, but the real test will be in the morning, when I`ll try to start her up. half the glowplugs er not connected, and the controller is missing.
the PO used to start her, with ether, and I allmost startet yelling at him, when I found out, so that spraycan, now rests in the dumpster.
Over here, you can buy a lot of cheap fords, but one with a manual is very hard to find.
I tried for three years, before I finally found one, and it dissappeared on me.
reappeared last month, when I had no money, and dissapeared before I could sell my caprice.
I sold the caprice, fast, and lost a lot of money in the process, but had enough, to buy the ford, if it should show up again, wich it did three days ago.
took me three hours to get down there and 5 minutes to buy it. it took me 5 hours to get home, since I had to try the 4x4 in the woods. it works perfectly.
the bench in the back, needs a little modification, in order for my boys to sit right, and safe.
I`ll try to post a few pictures, if I can. hehe

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...old-style.html Have a read through this link as you will need the glowplugs working to get it started.
Truck looks good and the stacks are great.

yeah, those mirror have to go, both are craked and dont do the truck justice.
besides, I kinda like to be able to se whats behind me. so bigger mirrors are going on.
going for a minor junkyard crawl today, trying/hoping to find a couple of relays, and a funktioning glowcontroller (like thats going to happen!) but I`ll try anyway.
"Lazy K" thanks for the link.

I would defenently leave the push button glow plugs there.....
The controller on those is screwed in a water jacket in the drivers side head, and after being there for 20+ years good luck getting it out without breaking it.
And push button glow plugs are the best, when the engine is warm you can just turn the key and start it up without using them at all. With a controller, they always come on even if not needed.

drove it through the center of town today, and had a few parking problems, but parked across 4 spaces, and paid for them all.
was quite funny to watch the parkingcontroller look at my little truck, and through his little regulationsbook, shaking his head, and caling tha headoffice, in order to figure out what fine, he could give me, and then realising, that I had payed for them all.
He was not happy, and took a lot of pictures of the car.
I was out fast with the camera, and every time he took a picture of my truck, I took a picture of him, and where he was, when he took his picture.
he finally realized, that I was taking pictures of him, and backed off.
Now I`m just waiting for them to call me, and complain, over my parking. boy, thats going to be fun!
I`m a ba....d I know, but I have been waiting for this opportunity, in 7 years, hehehe
the glowcontroller is a no-go, no fords up for scraps, in the near future, so I`ll have tu jurryrig, something, since there is no glowplugs working on this truck, and winter is coming.
The glow relay is working, though.
right now, I`m wondering, if the set of glowplugs, that I had for my 6.2, would work in the 6.9

Don't bother with the 6.2 GPs, just get a new set of Motorcraft/Beru ZD9s (got mine through RockAuto Auto Parts). As anyone here will tell you, any other aftermarket GPs will fail & swell up and break off. Then you have a whole new set of problems.
Looks like a killer truck, love the paint!

he`s gonna need the extra cash, for new tires.
i tried to make a sharp turn today, and had to floor it, in order to get the rearend out.

"D..n didnt know that anything that big, could do that!!

its the starter switch, and I think he tried to wire something up for the glowplugs.
I have seen a lot of bad wiring, but this is bad!
I would love an ejection seat.
"Are you going to fill diesel AGAIN??? Just how is the MPG on this truck!"
BOOOOOOOOIIIIING,
DONT KNOW. DONT CARE. BYE
hehehe...
