Smile Vacation Thread

We just got back from a great trip to Myrtle Beach for vacation this year. Looks like we may head to Disney around Christmas but we're not sure yet.

What has everybody done for vacation this year or what do you have planned? Post up your pics, plans, or whatever you want that's got to do with vacation!

I was just talking to my wife again about heading to Myrtle Beach! We've been kicking it around for a few years. A couples thing where the boys hit the links and the girls do whatever girls do.

In the meantime we're headed to Michigan for a week of camping at the end of the month. It'll be the maiden voyage with the new camper. There will be pics for sure.

I start my 2 week vacation on the 22nd of August. This year family came to me so I'm not going anywhere.

I'm gonna sit back and rest, wade in the pool, drive my truck and increase my post count.

7/21-8/7: "She, who must be obeyed" and I vacationed in the PNW (OR/WA).

Tim, your average daily post count is 7.50...mine is 20.48 (the first year I was a member, it was 36.76!). Lotsa luck playin' catch up.

Bill, I don't have enough intelligent stuff to say to post 20 in one day.

Start a USCG history thread, and type a gazillion posts on why you love your new Ecoboost F150.

With it's 211 cid V6 (one a the smallest engines installed in any Ford truck since Model A's-203 cid I-4), I hope it's trouble free for a loooong time.

I WAS going to Florida to visit my the inlaws but those orders have been recinded.
NOW I will proceed to move out of our rental house and in to our "new" house. Finally a home that will be "mine". I can't wait to move and set up w/o the "you will move again soon" cloud over my head. I have moved so many times in my life w/military, I have never really set everything up the way I wanted it. Now I can live in a "non-transiet" lifestyle. I am very happy. The best part is I have my own dawg house! (garage).

Thanks John! We are all excited! (except the ACTUAL moving part).
We got a good deal on it.
I have know I dea why it is called a "SHORT SALE" b/c there was nothing short about it...it took over 6 months. But I feel pretty lucky!
Home Sweet Home!

Your truck is dirty.....

But, your new home is CLEAN!.

Now your wife can sit on the balcony veranda, with the drink of her choice (that you fetch her), and contently watch you mow the yard.

Looks like a great trip!

Just a question to you all.....

How do you folks find places to vacation that are "out of the norm"? I guess what I mean is how do you specifically find places you don't normally visit? Lots of times, I rely on word of mouth recommendations. There are so many places to potentially visit, it's hard to tell where to begin looking.

Myrtle Beach is great and we love taking the kids there. But we also love places like Hilton Head Island where it's a little less commercial and a little more laid back. We like finding the little known places. Disney is great also but there again it's really busy and the crowds get old.

Where are some of the "hole in the wall" places you've vacationed?
