Fuse designations

Anyone know what actual fuses are supposed to be needed for a 77 F-100?

i.e. AGC7.5, AGX3 etc. The third letter indicates fuse length I think. I know the amp values but not the designations.

Well, if you know the amps then you just put in any fuse that fits really. You should need the glass fuses and you can find them in about any auto parts store. I have a wiring diagram from my chilton i can post if you want that to see what each fuse runs.

Right, but there are several different lengths, which is what he's asking - all someone with a '77 needs to do is post that page out of their owner's manual, which will tell what type of fuse (AGC, SFE, etc) to use. The fuse panel (and a Chilton's diagram) only shows the amperage.

Good info on the fuse designations. Thanx! Now I need to find a place to order them in the little boxes with about 5 fuses each.
