When I did it.. I tried the new springs, and the truck had slight positive camber., I saw a few members here with the DJM setup all had 1 cut coil.. so I tried that.. and the truck still had very slight positive.. so I lopped off another.. Then the truck sat alright. until it settled a month or so later.

Oops.

I do 1/2 at a time but same concept. You never know what you are getting until it is done. The more the front drops the more weight is transfered to the front suspension. Taking out 1/2 coil might drop1/2" the first time an dthe 2nd 1/2 may take another inch or more.

HIO Silver he is passing on the sway bar. He did a '90 that has large stamped beams not the small (physical size) beams like the 65-79.

simple way to check camber:

The 18" measurement is a level resting on the inner rim if possible. Make sure it's vertical. Then measure the distance from the inner edge of the level to the top of rim.

I'm not really sure if your way is correct or not, but I'm just taking an educated guess that your guess might be off. 15 degrees of camber is alot.

not a straight shot but this is -5 degrees:

here's -10.4 degrees:

I'm not saying you're wrong, it's just a crazy amount. If your camber looked similar to the last one at all, I wish you would've gotten pics. That would've been a crazy sight.

LOL no, wasn't that bad. like I said, take a carpenters level, line it up as I said, and measure that angle off vertical. That number is what I had. whatever it was, it chewed through front tires REALLY fast.

I'll keep that in mind... maybe 1/2-coil first, then quarters as I progress.

This year I put back the variable rate 460 springs that I had in the truck before I ever dropped it, and the camber is acceptable now. It didn't really raise the truck any either. Go figure.

Should I make an effort at setting toe in or spend the $70? I've never attempted it before.. nor did I ever bother after dropping the truck and changing the front end (yeah I know.....)

I've never actually spun those adjusters.. not sure how they work. I've always just replaced parts and had it aligned.
I would do it. We only have adjustment on one side so its pretty easy. I measured from the inner tread on the front tires front and back and made it so the front measurement was 1/8" less than the back measurement. You will need to realign the steering wheel possibly when finished. I had 1/4" toe in when I checked it and it was very twitchy feeling. Took it out to 1/8" and its much better.

And no way you had 15 degrees of neg chamber lol. I have maybe 3 or 4 degrees but I run cheap front tires and don't put more than 5k a year on it so they last awhile and are cheap to replace.
