I was quoting/paraphrasing a recent Diesel Power magazine tech article about this very problem where they suggested an aftermarket unit could alleviate the issue from what they've "heard"...you know how that goes.
That being said they're a spicy meatball, right around $1.5K +/-...personally I'd grab Spartan's package deal which includes the free flowing charge pipe shown HERE.
There's no arguable reason it would deny your warranty, but with that being said I would double check with your service department of choice just to make sure before you go ahead and spend the money...
I LOVE anything that reduces EGTs, and that Spartan package deal is certainly a one-two punch in your EGT's face!
Hope this helps!

I still have my orginial CAC. I have never ever had a problem, snow storms, Rain, high humidy, I was even down to FL this July around orlando, never a problem. Mine is pretty well beat up on the outside but it works well. So it is not everyone.
Banks makes a good one. Spearco? I think it is makes one as well.

Two points for the OP. If you're not out of warranty ford should replace the CAC with a smile and a happy heart. They replaced mine and the improvement was significant. It wasn't perfect, I still managed to have the problem once or twice in 3 years. For the $1200 or so an after market CAC costs I can live with that.
After I had identified the problem but before I got the CAC replaced I simply pre-empted the problem. IE: on hot humid days (Georgia) I would open up the throttle to get rid of the moisture every hour or so. That resulted in having power when and if I needed it. Once the water has been sucked out the truck will run great for good while.
