36" tires on a 2WD without a lift?

Local guy has some cheap 36" tires I can pick up. Truck is a 1993 F250 2wd XLT. I know they are going to rub, but the question is... how bad? Truck is a beater with rusty fenders.... I was thinking a sawzall and some fender trim would make it look nice if I could get the tires to clear. I never drive it over 40mph and only put on about 200 miles per year. Anyone think it's possible?

Anything's possible. It will look goofy as hell though.

Cut the fenders? Hell, just take them off. There won't be much left of them any way. The only possible way this is going to work is if you, of course, hack the crap out of the fenders (and probably the bed sides too) and mount these on wheels with a BIG offset. The idea is to get the tire as far away from the suspension as possible and then clearance the body as needed.

Please, please, please, if you do this post pictures. We love pics on this site and I love it when I see pics of something that most folks would say can't be done.

Haha... sounds like it will look insane. I just can't stomach putting a lift on a 2-wheel drive truck.

Here's the tires in case anyone else is interested: Mud Tires

Here's a tread by a fellow with an 87 3/4 ton and full size 33s. Though they do clear for him it's not really comparable to 36s. But it could give you an idea of how much room you have.

Oh and those tires are 15s. They wouldn't work for you anyways. You need at least 16s to clear the brakes.

Hmm... I'll have to doublecheck my rims. I had it in my mind they were 15s.

I don't think that the 33s look bad at all. Getting another 1.5" on the top of the fenders wouldn't be too tough at all!

I have F250 coil springs on the front of my '92 F150 2wd and 31x10.5x15's just barely rub at full lock. Good luck trying to fit 36s....
