I can't find the invoice at the moment to be sure, but IIRC, the Leer was a little over $2K, including removable front window, split sliding side windows, carpeted interior (on the shell), Thule rails and two bars. That might have also included the bed liner.

One thing I'll say for the ARE based on the photos, it has slightly larger side windows that match the cab windows better than the Leer (at least compared to mine).

WOW! pricey but I'm sure you like it. Did that price cover installation for the remote and lighting? The remote is an expensive option or not?

Do you know what model? I kinda like the Leer's better but undecided yet.

Included installation. I don't have the invoice here but I think the keyless entry was under $200.

I have a golden bronze 350 lwb. I got the ARE Z series with all the options minus the roof rails (3 port aux power point, dome light, tilt out front sliding window, electronic lock rear window, tail gate seal, carpeted head liner and installed) and in May, I paid $2,091.38. I love this cap. The fit and finish is great, and the color match is spot on. I also was looking at the Leer, but decided on the ARE. My ARE dealer threw in the elctronic locking rear window because leer was offering it for free on theirs. So be sure to compare and pit each dealer against one another. it took about 3 weeks to get my cap in, but it was well worth the wait. A friend bought a Leer for his Chevy before I got my ARE, and after seeing mine, he sold his to a guy he worked with and ordered an ARE!

Model was 100XR. Price was $2167.63, but that included the price of the bed liner, and I still can't find the receipt to see how much that was, just the cancelled check.

Equipped with sliding side windows, removable sliding front window, carpeted headliner, dome light, Thule track rails and load bars. Tax and installation included too. I'm guessing the base price of the 100XR was around $1300.

Well, just ordered my cap and I ended up going with Snugtop. I saw one on a 2011 SD and really liked the way it looked. Price was a bit more expensive, I will be paying $2800. But that includes the option for a fold-down slider and the Sport rack. Should take 2-3 weeks to get it and I'll post a pick when it is on.

Thanks for all of the replies to the pricing question.

Just got the call from my dealer that my Snugtop Supersport has arrived and will be installed on Wednesday. I'm also paying $2800 with plenty of options included plus installation. Can't wait to see it on and I'll be sure to post pics this weekend!

Here's a pic of my LEER. It wasn't supposed to fit a truck with a taligate step but we found a way to make it work. It was formally on my Son's 2006 SD. When he bought a quad for hunting he found that he couldn't use the cap and carry the quad so he gave the Leer to me.

I went with a snugtop and have been happy thus far. Only needed to adjust the lock a bit. has sliding windows, light, manual lock. paid 1500 plus tax and 150 for install. Put a bed rug in her and have been a happy camper since. Kids like to have a picnic in the truck bed and the bed rug makes it more comfy. Dogs like the sliding windows. Color match was right on as well.
